Fashion trends have taken on a renewed life after a long dull road with the pandemic and global issues. Starting with the season’s colours that are not the usual Fall hues with browns, rust, cranberry and burnt orange but refreshingly punchy with a surprising take on colour palettes for Winter 2021 including a fabulous acid green, and delicious marmalade orange, or a deep but bright fuchsia pink and cherry red, even a fabulous true sky blue.

Fur collars are key on coats and vest and giant puffers too for oversized jackets and vests. Burnout prints and boho graphics decorate sweaters and t-shirts and the new space-age angled oversized outerwear layers are important silhouettes while outerwear takes on major volume with huge oversized jackets and long angled coats with layered pieces over top.  The vest is a huge trend this coming winter from pretty coloured crocheted vests over a white T or blouse (check out Urban Planet at The Junction for key fashion pieces and great prices) to more thick or finely knitted vests and also the puffer again to showcase a wide deconstructed styling.

The cat suit, tight and trim, a la “The Avengers” own Mrs. Peel circa 1967, has returned and dresses take on a Roaring 20s style with long spaghetti straps and sparkle and shine.   Pantsuits are back in an array of styles from long jackets over wide pants or a trim blazer with narrow slacks or over wide-leg ‘gaucho’ pants which end at mid-shin to showcase a stylish pair of boots. WINNERS has an ever-changing selection for footwear and fashion pieces including outwear, suits and casual dress for men and women. Visit often to keep up to new styles coming in daily.

For men’s wear it’s all about fleece, casual & relaxed, oversized coats and lots of colour and tweeds in fabulous autumn tones.   Relaxed drawstring trousers continue to be popular and fleece and leather jackets are sharp outerwear looks that men love, particularly in the bomber jacket style. Gortex and rain jackets with utility boots remain high on the guys’ trend list for Winter 2021-22 and there is a return to a more relaxed fit in trouser pants rather than last season’s slim-fitting narrow pants.

Women’s hairstyles have several key trends shown for fall and winter including Classic Bangs, curtain bangs to be specific trimmed to just above the eye almost covering the entire eyebrows (think Cher in the 1960s). Then moving into the 1970s we love the soft waves of longer hair with soft bangs, once again with volume and curves and to shoulder length and beyond.  The team at Mirror Envy Beauty Salon will consult with you and provide expert advice to take you into the winter season with hair and beauty styling that you’ll love. Large hair clips (found at Sally’s Beauty and London Drugs) are a key fashion hair accessory making statements with dress up or comfort styles. The classic but updated Bob Cut with or without bangs is has returned for fall as well as layering your hair, which again is popular. Even the Pixie Cut is still in vogue and for your Winter headgear, hats remain an important part of your entire look for winter, in particular the Bucket Hat which sure helps protect us from B.C.’s winter rains and wind. Take a look at Urban Planet for cute hats and hair accessories.
