2021 marks a whole new attitude in dressing, working from home, the role of teacher to kids and making everyday decisions considering safety and the pandemic protocol. Top hairstyles include ‘Goddess Braids’ that are a trending statement in these tines for racial identity and more often then not, these are braided from dual ponytails (sometimes up to four) and could often also be wrapped or tied high on top of the head. New cuts including fringe and bangs, layers and buzz cuts for women’s hair styles, taking the lead toward a quarantined simplicity. Trends like a Mullet or a Bob, particularly an Asymetrical Bob, are now seen on celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Rhianna and Katy Perry. Short, short, short cuts, affectionately referred to as the Big Chop, are back for 2021 and it’s a great style for wavy or curly hair and loves a fabulous leave-in conditioner. For men, the top hairstyle this year is a short blowout with tapered sides, a la soccer star, David Beckham. Tried and true classic men’s styles that remain as top choices include the Crew Cut, the classic Pompadour, and the Buzz Cut with Shaved Design.
